Art classes for youth (15 – 18 years)
ART LESSONS FOR YOUTH (15-18 years)
The program is oriented toward intensive development of creative thinking. It cultivates the ability to understand oneself and the world through creativity, to discover one’s authenticity, strengths, and the self-confidence that emerges from them. Each student receives a great deal of individual attention, and progress is discussed continuously.
In the lessons, aesthetic and philosophical questions are actively explored, and students are encouraged to respond to and reflect the surrounding world through their creativity, analyze significant works of art, observe their environment, and recognize imagery within everyday life. The program is based on a deep understanding of art history, artistic genres, a wide range of techniques and materials, as well as original creative thinking exercises.
An important part of the lessons is sketching from life and from imagination—learning to quickly grasp a seen or imagined image and easily transfer its essence onto paper. Great attention is given to composition, painting, and color theory, and students are introduced to various printmaking techniques. The most interesting exhibitions in Vilnius are visited and discussed.
We also offer separate programmes:
ACADEMIC AND FREEHAND DRAWING – especially useful when preparing for entrance exams in art-related fields (painting, graphics, architecture, design), for strengthening a solid portfolio, or simply for developing an understanding and confident command of composition, light and shadow, proportions, and perspective.
FIGURE AND PORTRAIT – for those who want to improve their skills in drawing and painting the human figure. All sessions include live models, and work is done from life. This is an active, challenge-filled practice that enables students to freely depict people from any angle or in any position, and ultimately to create expressive figurative compositions and portraits based on both observation and imagination.
